Grab sampler serves to take surface sediment whose thickness depends on the height and depth of the grab into the sediment layer. This tool is commonly used to take sediment samples in shallow water. A small grab sampler is used and operated easily, only by using a small boat this tool can be lowered and raised by hand. Sediment sampling with this tool can be done by one person by running it slowly from the boat so that the grab position remains standing when it reaches the bottom surface of the waters. At the time of lowering the tool, the direction and speed of the current must be taken into account so that the tool remains constant at the position of the sampling point.
