Taber Abrasion testing is carried out to see the resistance of polymer materials (plastics, elastomers) to abrasion when mechanical loads are given in the form of rubbing based on ASTM D1004 (haze) or ASTM D4060 (weigh loss).
The output of the abrasion test is a visual evaluation of changes in the sample surface (gloss, or color fading) and/or changes in sample weight.
