3. Development of lignocellulosic biomass pre-treatment for enzymatic saccharification
4. Synthesis, modification, and characterization of environmentally friendly food packaging from biomass waste
5. Isolation and utilization of bioactive compounds from plants, animals and endophytic fungi as antimicrobial and pharmaceutical ingredients
6. Development of dietary fiber products from plant and mushroom biomass
7. Development of bioactive glucan compounds from plants and mushroom
8. Synthesis and production of recombinant glucan-based enzymes
9. Development of starch and cellulose-based super hydrogels
