The satellite will undergo a tense journey from the launch pad to reach its final orbit. Failure of any of its components can result in a satellite malfunctioning, which is expensive and will delay the program for years. It is important for all space systems - such as satellites - to undergo an intensive program of pre-launch testing. This includes the Force Limited Vibration Test ( FLVT). This test, carried out at ground level, tests the satellite for all possible vibrations during its flight from earth to orbit. If there is a problem, corrective action can be taken.
