This service is a service for using proximate analysis tools which include water content analysis, ash, fat, carbohydrate and protein levels. The sample tested is required to be powder. Testing the water content of samples for solids and semi-solids uses an oven using the gravimetric method. The measurement of ash content uses the gravimetric method by heating 500oC for 3 hours for ashing, by calculating the difference in the sample and the percentage of heating results. Analysis of fat samples is based on calculating the fat extracted in hexane solvent using a Soxhlet tool. Protein content analysis uses the Kjeldahl technique, by calculating the nitrogen content of the sample after going through the digestion, distillation and titration process.
