The Sonardyne RT 6-1000 is an acoustic release transponder used to release, track, locate, and recover equipment deployed on the seabed.
The RT 6-1000 transponder unit incorporates three primary functions:
1. Acoustic transponder
The RT 6-1000 can transmit and receive acoustic signals, enabling the determination of its position or range relative to a USBL system.
2. Acoustic release
The unit features a screw-off release mechanism. Upon receiving an acoustic release command, the mechanism releases the load suspended from the release nut.
3. Inclinometer
The RT 6-1000 is equipped with an inclinometer with an accuracy of approximately ±5°, allowing the unit's tilt to be monitored while on the seabed. Specification
