The Coordinate Measuring Machine is a high-speed multi-function measuring device that provides high measurement accuracy and efficiency. In principle CMM is the opposite of CNC. In CNC the entered coordinates produce tool movement on the X, Y and Z axes. While in CMM the contact between the probe and the workpiece produces coordinates. In addition, if the CNC machine uses a circulating ball bearing (circulated ball bearing), then the CMM machine uses an air pad bearing so that the movement is very smooth. To ensure the accuracy of the construction CMM is made very rigid (rigid). One way is to use granite as a table or reference plane.
