Teledyne UTS 9400 Deck Unit Description
The Universal Topside 9400 is a complete single-unit replacement for all previously offered Teledyne Benthos acoustic deck units. The Universal Topside 9400 can operate standard acoustic releases, communicate and control acoustic modems, and work with Teledyne Benthos’ SMART product line.
The UTS is the result of a focused engineering effort to design the ideal deck unit for all levels of users. From novice users to professional users, the UTS features an easy-to-use interface, with advanced and intuitive communication, command, and control features to ensure the user remains in control of the operation at all times. Features:
• Full color touchscreen and intuitive menus to simplify operation
• Up to 200 m of cable available for high reliability deep-sea acoustic communications
• Advanced ambient acoustic analysis to ensure your commands are received even in the most challenging environments
• Ability to log all sent and received commands for post-processing of mission operations
• RS-232 port for direct connection to a PC or laptop
• USB port for offloading logged data and updating firmware
• Speaker for listening to acoustic signals
• AC or internal battery power
• Low frequency (LF) immersion transducer and 25 m cable (standard)
