Freeze Dryer testing services are provided by the Plant Bioprospecting Laboratory to support research and development of biological materials. Freeze drying, or lyophilization, is a dehydration method used to remove water from samples without damaging their molecular structure, thereby preserving the bioactivity and physical characteristics of the materials.
This service includes freeze drying for various types of samples, including but not limited to:
Plant extracts for bioprospecting research
Microorganisms (fungi, bacteria) for collection or secondary metabolite production
Isolated bioactive compounds
Plant tissues for long-term storage
Enzyme or protein-based products requiring stabilization
