Impact testing is a material strength test that aims to measure the resistance of a material to rapid loading. The measurement shows a reading of the energy absorbed by the material when a shock load hits the test sample. There are two types of uunotched impact tests using the pendulum method, namely the Charpy impact (ISO 179) and the Izod impact (ISO 180).
