Nanoparticle size analysis (Particle Size Analyzer)
1. The sample must consist of a particle dispersion in a liquid medium.
2. Dispersant: Aqua milipore / organic solvent
3. The sample must be light-penetrating (visually)
4. Water dispersing agent (using aquades / aquabides)
Also, it include the following parameters:
a. Sample: Reflective Index
b. Dispersant (solvent): Reflective index, Viscosity, and Dielectric constant
c. Ideally, the dispersant must meet the following requirements:
- The RI of the dispersing agent must be different from the particle
- must be compatible with the particle (e.g. does not cause swelling, dissolution, or aggregation)
- RI & viscosity must be known with an accuracy of better than 0.5%
- must be clean and filterable
- for nanoparticles that can be read to a maximum of 1000nm
*Sample preparation is carried out by the user
