Fouier-Transform Infrared
Spectrometer (FTIR)

This instrument is used to determine the functional groups that are in the sample, which are solids or liquids. Each molecule has a certain infrared spectrum that can be distinguished from other molecules because if the molecule absorbs infrared radiation the energy causes an increase in the amplitude of the vibrations of bound atoms called excited vibrations. The absorbed energy will be released back into the form of heat, if the molecule returns to the ground state. The exact wavelength of absorption by a particular type of bond depends on the type of vibration of the bond. Therefore, different types of bonds absorb infrared radiation at different characteristic wavelengths. In this FTIR, it uses two different accessories, namely ATR (attenuated total reflectance) and universal transmittance. Requirements for the test sample do not contain water.

Additional information:
- Samples that have been tested will be stored in the laboratory for a maximum of 3 months.
- Samples not taken within this time will be destroyed
- Maximum payment time is one month (1 month) after the Billing Code is issued
