PromethION is a high-throughput sequencing device developed by Oxford Nanopore Technologies. Promethion is designed to generate large data sequences of long reads in real time. Promethion24 can run 1 to 24 flow cells, so it can process a large number of samples simultaneously. The resulting sequence data output per flowcell of a maximum of 290GB varies depending on the conditions of the type of library, samples and others. Available sequencing reagents: ligation sequencing kit, ligation native barcoding kit, ligation rapid barcoding kit. PromethION applications include larger genome (WGS, population genomic animal and plant) studies, environmental and biodiversity studies (analyze environmental samples to study microbial communities, biodiversity and ecological interactions), multiplex small genomes (microbes) and target regions (amplicons).
