• Antidiabetic with α-glucosidase inhibition methods
Ø Method: Dewi, R.T., Tachibana, S., Darmawan, A., Effects on a-glucosidase inhibition and antioxidant activities of butyrolactone derivatives from Aspergillus terreus MC75, Med Chem Res. 23: 454–460. 2014. DOI 10.1007 / s00044-013-0659-4.
Ø Prinsif action: The mechanism of the a-glucosidase reaction is to catalyze the reaction of the breakdown of the substrate into p-nitrophenol and glucose. The substrate used was p-nitrophenyl-a-D-glucopyranoside, at 370C. The activity of this enzyme is measured based on the uptake of p-nitrophenol produced. If the sample has the ability to inhibit the activity of uk-glucosidase, the p-nitrophenol produced will be reduced.
Enzim In vitro enzymatic methods for testing the ability of a-glucosidase activity are a cheaper and faster alternative to initial screening, and then only extracts that are truly potentially tested by in vivo methods in experimental animals.
