Analysis using Gas Chromatography–Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) is an instrumental analytical method used for the separation, identification, and quantification of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds. Gas Chromatography–Electron Capture Detector (GC-ECD) is a gas chromatography analysis technique used to detect compounds with a high affinity for electrons, particularly those containing electronegative elements such as halogens (Cl, Br, F), nitro, or certain carbonyl groups. This method is highly sensitive and selective, making it widely used in trace analysis, particularly in the environmental and food sectors. The results of GC-FID and GC-ECD analyses are displayed in the form of chromatograms, graphs that show the relationship between retention time (x-axis) and signal intensity (y-axis). Each peak in the chromatogram represents a single component in the sample. Compound identification is performed by comparing the sample's retention time with that of a standard, while quantification is based on the peak area compared to a calibration curve. Currently, the standard is only available for hydrocarbons from C6 to C21. For other standards, please contact the laboratory service department.
