The LFA 467 HT HyperFlash® offers four individual fast-responding mini-tube furnaces for a total of four specimens. Each mini-tube furnace has its own thermocouple; this design offers a homogeneous temperature distribution across all samples, which is beneficial for determination of the specific heat capacity (cp). In addition, the surrounding area is watercooled and the entire furnace system has a low thermal mass.
The Light Flash (LFA) technique is a fast, nondestructive and non-contact method for determining thermal diffusivity and specific heat capacity.
The elegance of the LFA method lies in its accurate and direct measurement of time and relative temperature increase.
