HVOF Coating is a thermal spray coating process in which the coating material (in the form of metal, ceramic, carbide, or cermet powder) is heated and propelled through a nozzle using high-pressure gas flow, resulting in high or supersonic particle velocities (M > 1). This coating technique is a type of surface hardening (hard facing) used to protect components from wear, corrosion, and heat.
