Activities:
1. Exploration of microbial enzymes isolated from extreme environments (pH, temperature, salinity, etc.);
2. Discovery of enzymes that are resistant & stable in extreme conditions for industrial applications;
3. Development of enzymes using recombinant DNA techniques to increase the production of enzymes and synthetic genes;
4. Development of enzymes to improve enzyme characteristics (substrate affinity, thermostability, pH stability, etc.) using rational design techniques (site directed mutagenesis) and irrational design (random mutagenesis).
Research Topics:
1. Expression, purification, and characterization of protease enzymes for environmentally friendly biodetergent applications
2. Expression, purification, and characterization of cas9 and dcas9 enzymes for molecular research applications
Scope:
1. Carrying out expression of protease, cas9 and dcas9 proteins as well as purification and characterization of these enzymes.
2. Data processing and analysis
Suitable for students majoring in:
S1 Biology, S1 Biochemistry, S1 Marine, S1 Biotechnology
