Function Description:
1. Research Activities/Groups: Development of analytical methods for reactor-based technologies (Neutron Activation Analysis, Neutron Scattering and Neutron Diffraction) and accelerators (PAA, PIGE, PIXE, RBS, Synchrotron, XANES etc.), as well as X-Ray-based methods (EDXRF Minipal, Total-XRF, EDXRF Epsilon 5), including sample preparation, sample irradiation, method validation, and analysis data for environmental, cultural heritage, food, health, forensics, and others.
2. Topic of activity/research
1. Application of nuclear analysis techniques for multi-element characterization of environmental samples (air, soil and plants etc.) 2. Characterization of radiation exposure in real time 3. Real time monitoring for the quantification of air particulates based on lowcost sensors 4. Characterization of fine air particulates for the identification of pollutant sources
3. Scope of Activity/Research Topics
o Application and development of nuclear analysis techniques (XRF and AAN) for the characterization of multielement content (trace, minor and major) in various matrices of food, environmental, air, and cultural heritage samples
o Sample preparation for irradiation using AAN and measurement using XRF tools
o Collaborate with researchers to input data and process data from nuclear engineering-based measurements
o Sampling and characterization of multifilter-based fine air particulate matter (PM2.5) samples for the identification of pollutant sources.
o Characterization of urban air quality using real-time monitoring based on low-cost sensors.
o Conduct literature studies related to accelerator-based techniques (PAA, PIGE, PIXE, RBS, Synchrotron, XANES etc.)
o Develop methods based on nuclear analysis techniques and beam utilization from accelerators
