The Microalgae Bioprospection Research Activity Group conducts exploration and identification of microalgae species to reveal their potential and applications in the fields of biotechnology, nutraceuticals, food, cosmetics, bioremediation, and environmental quality improvement. The process involves isolation, screening, and characterization of microalgae to find compounds that have significant benefits for society and industry.

1. Application of Exopolysaccharide-Producing Microalgae as Acidic Soil Improvement Agents
2. Pigment Production and CO₂ Absorption Capacity by Chlorella sp Microalgae: Characterization Study for Dual Applications in the Renewable Energy and Natural Dyes Industries.
3. Proximate analysis, secondary metabolites and microalgae antioxidants
Scope:
1. Microalgae cultivation techniques, data processing of exopolysaccharide (EPS)-producing microalgae biomass production, EPS extraction from several microalgae, EPS characterization.
2. Laboratory-scale microalgae culture; Pigment characterization by spectrophotometric method; Simulation of CO₂ capture by giving artificial CO₂ or variations of Nitrogen and Magnesium additions.
3. Extraction, qualitative and quantitative analysis of primary & secondary metabolites; Antioxidant activity test of microalgae extracts
