Micro Electron Diffraction (Micro-ED) data is acquired on Krios G4, a cryo-transmission electron microscope (cryo-TEM), using electrons as the incident beam. Since Micro-ED is a diffraction technique, samples need to be crystalline and it can be used much smaller crystals. Crystals that are only 100 nm in size can readily be analysed. This may significantly shorten the sample preparation process and allows for the analysis of crystals that are too small to diffract with other methods. After data collection is completed, and 3D structures can be determined at atomic resolution.
