Freeze dryers are used to dry wet solid or liquid samples using 100% water as a solvent.
Sample rates are calculated per sample, with a maximum volume of 200 mL/sample or multiples thereof, and a maximum drying time of 3x24 hours.
Samples outside these limits must be submitted as a new service.
PLEASE USE HEAT-RESISTANT CONICAL BOTTLES/FOOD BOXES WITH A MAXIMUM VOLUME OF 50% OF THE TOTAL CONTAINER VOLUME.
Sample volume requirements:
100 mL conical, maximum volume 50 mL
50 mL conical, maximum volume 25 mL
15 mL conical, maximum volume 6 mL
Food box, maximum volume height 1 cm.
GLASS BOTTLES MUST NOT BE USED AS THEY WILL BREAK DURING THE FREEZING PROCESS AT -80°C, AND THE SAMPLE'S PH MUST BE NEUTRAL.
PLEASE NOTE THE PROVISIONS ABOVE TO SPEED UP THE SAMPLE DRYING PROCESS
