Wire Cut Machine (Wire EDM)
A wire cut machine is used to cut conductive materials using a thin wire as the cutting electrode. The cutting process is based on the principle of electrical discharge machining (EDM), with no direct physical contact between the cutting tool and the workpiece, resulting in high precision and minimal deformation. This facility is intended exclusively for internal BRIN users. This service uses a payment scheme through Elsa Points.
For usage of this machine outside working hours, users are required to complete Form F-BRIN-02-02 (Application Form for Permission to Use Process, Preparation, Workshop, and Other Facilities Outside Working Hours), which can be accessed Aksesibilitas Laboratorium - Download Formulir.
Internal BRIN personnel outside the ORNM Metallurgy Laboratory who wish to use this facility are also required to complete Form F-BRIN-02-05 (Laboratory Usage – Internal Personnel), available in the same menu.
Users are expected to read the SOP and sample requirements listed in the Service Documents before use.
