Vacuum Arc Melting (VAM)
Vacuum Arc Melting (VAM) is a process used for melting metals and alloys using an electric arc under vacuum or inert atmosphere conditions, resulting in high purity and good material homogeneity. This facility is intended exclusively for internal BRIN users. This service uses a payment scheme through Elsa Points.
For usage of this equipment outside working hours, users are required to complete Form F-BRIN-02-02 (Application Form for Permission to Use Process, Preparation, Workshop, and Other Facilities Outside Working Hours), which can be accessed Aksesibilitas Laboratorium - Download Formulir.
Internal BRIN personnel outside the ORNM Metallurgy Laboratory who wish to use this facility are also required to complete Form F-BRIN-02-05 (Laboratory Usage – Internal Personnel), available in the same menu.
Users are expected to read the SOP and sample requirements listed in the Service Documents before use.
