The Anthropic Traces and Residue Analysis on Artifact (ANTRACT) Research Group focuses on the study of usewear in the form of residues and/or changes that occur in the context of artifact use. However, more broadly it can be interpreted as a study of aspects of past human behavior through changes that appear in the process of making-using-disposing of artifacts. The principle of usewear analysis is based on experiments and fracture mechanics, tribology, and related fields, on various materials including wood, bone, stone, glass, shell, and metal artifacts. This MBKM will focus on research on usewear in the form of residues and/or changes that occur in the context of artifact use in the Bumiayu Field Station Area
