The Vegetal and Organic Analysis in Archaeology (VEGAN) Research Group is a field of archaeology that uses a biological science approach, especially botany. There are two archaeobotanical methods based on the data used, namely: 1) microbotany which studies pollen, phytoliths, and starch; and 2) macrobotany which studies fruits, seeds, stems, leaves, roots, and plant charcoal from an archaeological context. This field aims to understand the relationship between humans and plants in the past. This MBKM will focus on archaeobotanical research using microbotanical and macrobotanical data from the archaeological context in the Bumiayu Field Station Area
