Activity Description: An ex-ante and ex-post scientific assessment of sea walling in coastal Tangerang Regency, Banten, will evaluate the potential benefits and risks of sea walling, both before and after implementation. The ex-ante study will focus on analysing the environmental, social and economic impacts, as well as the readiness of infrastructure and policies that support the project. Meanwhile, the ex-post assessment will assess the effectiveness of the fencing in protecting coastal areas, its impacts on ecosystems and communities, and the long-term sustainability of the project. The main objective of the study is to ensure that sea fencing can provide maximum benefits while not causing significant negative impacts, and provide recommendations for improvements and policies for future coastal management.
