This research group conducts research on past climate and environmental variability and trends at various spatial and temporal scales to understand the attributions of natural climate variability and anthropogenic influences. Conditions of biodiversity, and past sea level changes are also studied to understand the effect of climate change on paleobiodiversity, as well as sea level so that the correlation between climate change and the environment can be understood. Understanding the mechanisms, evolution, and impacts of global climate change and the environment provides important information to the scientific community and policymakers regarding long-term interactions between humans and the environment, and helps predict future climate and environmental changes.
Various climate and environmental proxy data contained in various natural archives such as corals, marine sediments, lake sediments, trees, bivalves, etc., are used to reconstruct the variability and trend of climate and environmental change from time to time. In addition, climate and environmental modeling are carried out to verify and calibrate climate and environmental reconstruction data, so that processes that work within and between the atmosphere, geosphere, and biosphere can be better understood to improve predictions of ongoing climate and environmental change.
Application Requirements:
