General description:
This Research Group develops technology in the processing of basic metal minerals such as iron, nickel, copper, etc., and precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, etc. from primary and secondary sources. This group also studies several physical and chemical processes such as hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, electrometallurgy, biometallurgy, as well as purification, synthesis and techno-economic processes to increase economic added value and produce a wide range of products as raw materials for stainless steel, batteries, catalysts, etc.
Topic of Activity/Research:
1. Manufacture of ferronickel as a raw material for the stainless-steel industry,
2. Research on nickel nanoparticles as battery raw materials.
3. Research on magnesium and aluminum as raw materials for light car bodies.
4. Research on manganese as a raw material for batteries.
5. Research on iron and titanium as alloying raw materials.
6. Technoeconomic Calculations of Basic and Precious Metal Processing and Refining.
Scope of Activities/Research Topics:
1. Characterization of Primary and Secondary Metal Minerals from Primary and Secondary Sources.
2. Beneficiation Process.
3. Extraction Process.
