The Vickers Hardness Tester measures the hardness of a material (metal). The basic principle of this test is that a pyramid-shaped indenter presses on the part of the material being tested. Then the indented surface is evaluated after a predetermined pressure is applied. The results of the Vickers hardness measurement will be calculated automatically using software that has been installed on the computer.
Material/Sample Specifications:
- Solid metal, minimum: 5 x 5 x 2 mm; maximum: 5 x 5 x 2 cm
- Flat surface (MANDATORY) and smooth (minimum has been sanded) 1000; mirror surface is recommended
- Does not accept sample preparation.
- 10x and 50x lenses
- Load 1, 3, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000 grams
