The Eppendorf 5920 R is a refrigerated centrifuge used to separate sample components based on differences in density through centrifugal force. Use of the Eppendorf 5920 R centrifuge for sample separation, pelleting, or clarification based on the centrifugation speed, time, and temperature specified by the user.

1. Samples must be filled to a maximum of 2/3 of the container volume.
2. Users are required to use thick-walled, centrifuge-compatible bottles or containers to minimize the risk of breakage during centrifugation.
3. Bottles or containers with any cracks, even minor ones, must not be used.
4. The instrument must be used according to the scheduled session submitted by the user.
5. The centrifuge and work area must be cleaned after use.

1. The user must provide information regarding the sample type, sample volume, number of tubes/containers, and purpose of centrifugation.
2. Samples must be properly prepared and placed in suitable containers for centrifugation.
3. Tubes and sample containers must be compatible with the rotor and adaptor being used.
4. Tubes or containers placed in the rotor must have an appropriate mass/volume balance. Containers must be arranged symmetrically to maintain rotor balance.
5. The user must specify or provide information regarding the required centrifugation speed/RCF, duration, and temperature.
6. Samples must be suitable for centrifugation and must not cause damage or corrosion to the equipment components.
7. Samples that may generate aerosols or are infectious, toxic, corrosive, or otherwise hazardous require prior approval and must be handled in accordance with applicable laboratory safety procedures.
8. Sample containers must be securely closed before centrifugation.
9. The rotor and centrifuge chamber must be checked before use and kept clean after operation.
10. Users must follow the applicable SOPs, laboratory safety procedures, and equipment operating instructions.
11. The user is responsible for the quality, safety, and suitability of the samples and containers used.
