We are offering opportunities for students to join three innovative research projects that integrate artificial intelligence (AI), computer vision, and medical/cultural image processing. These projects are ideal for students from computer science, informatics, psychology, medicine, archaeology, history, or anyone interested in real-world applications of AI.
DeepLUNA – Detection of Tuberculous Pleuritis from Chest X-Ray Images
This project focuses on developing a deep learning-based application to detect lung diseases, particularly Tuberculous Pleuritis, from chest X-ray images. Students will contribute to disease area annotation, medical image processing, AI model training, and interface development.
Facial Expression for Happiness Index
A research project on facial expression analysis to automatically estimate individual happiness levels using psychological models and AI. Students will be involved in facial data labeling, expression model development, and psychological data analysis.
Heritage Biometrics – Biometric Analysis of Historical Artifacts
An interdisciplinary study using computer vision and deep learning to analyze facial and body features from historical artifacts such as statues and reliefs. Tasks include 3D reconstruction, biometric feature extraction, and head-body matching from fragmented artifacts.
